I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1970. In 1971, my family moved to the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, where I was raised by my parents, Jake and Evelyn Hines. After high school, I attended Mendel Catholic Prep on the South Side of Chicago. Immediately after graduating, I joined the U.S. military, enlisting in the 82nd Airborne Division in 1989. During my service, I ran two types of kitchens—both a large garrison kitchen and a smaller one—supervising over 40 personnel at once. I also completed a combat tour during Desert Storm, stationed in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and Safwan, Iraq, for which I was awarded a Bronze Star. After completing my military service in 1992, I moved to Houston, Texas. In 1993, I joined the Houston Police Department. As an HPD officer, I served in the Community Services Division, patrolled in both the Southwest and Northwest Divisions, and ultimately worked in the Warrants Division, overseeing citywide warrant operations. During that time, I also developed a passion for real estate—earning my real estate license in 1997. From 1997 to 2008, I was a licensed realtor and mortgage broker in Texas, running my own firm, The Integrity Firm, where we specialized in real estate and mortgage services. In 2018, I joined under Dr. Dana Carson at World Outreach International, formerly known as The Rock, a local ministry and accredited biblical college in Houston, with Dr. Carson as the chancellor. During that time, I also served as pastor of The Rock La Marque, a division of The Rock Houston, under Dr. Carson’s direction. I then left HPD in 2001 and founded Integrity Life Church, which was founded here in Texas City, Texas, where I pastored a small congregation from 2001 to 2018. During these years, my administrative skills grew, and in 2021, I founded a trucking company, MIT Trucking and Construction Company, LLC, a licensed hotshot motor carrier in Texas. In that role, I managed and arranged loads for seven drivers, handling all booking and negotiations of terms. I also earned a freight broker’s license under B&G Freight Brokers with Integrity, making me a licensed freight broker in Texas as well. Throughout my life and career, I have honed strong administrative and leadership skills, consistently overseeing teams, managing complex operations, and driving results. Whether leading crews in the military, guiding a church congregation, or managing a real estate and trucking business, I have built a track record of effective leadership, strategic planning, and team coordination. I am confident that these skills, combined with my deep commitment to service, will allow me to excel as a county director, ensuring that I lead with integrity, vision, and dedication to the community’s success. Vote for me, and together, we can bring positive change and lasting impact to our community.
